Arriving by car
If you are driving, one thing matters more than anything else: navigate to the complete address, not to the neighbourhood.
Three steps when you arrive
-
Navigate to the entrance
Set the complete address as your destination and follow live navigation all the way to the entrance.
-
Unload passengers and luggage
Stop only where stopping is legally permitted, and only for as long as it takes. Never block the gate, a driveway, a bus lane, a cycle lane or a pedestrian crossing.
-
Park, then walk back
Move the car to a place where parking is permitted, then walk back to the entrance. Read the signs and the road markings before you leave the car.
Official mobility information
- Limited traffic zones (ZTL) in the centre — official page, Roma Servizi per la Mobilità opens in a new tab
- Today in Rome: traffic and mobility updates — official page, Roma Servizi per la Mobilità opens in a new tab
These are the city’s own pages. Consult them before you travel: only they can tell you what applies to your route, your day and your vehicle. We do not reproduce their contents here.
- We do not publish a fixed turn-by-turn route: traffic, roadworks and closures in Rome change constantly. Always follow live navigation.
Parking near the apartment
Around the apartment you can find on-street parking:
- Blue lines: €1 an hour, generally 08:00–19:00 Monday to Saturday; on Sunday parking is free.
- White lines: free parking.
This is what we see in the streets around the apartment — not a rule that applies everywhere in Rome.
- We have no private, reserved or guaranteed parking space of our own. Nearby there is public street parking and there are paid car parks; street parking may be free or paid depending on the signs and road markings where you stop. We cannot promise a space will be free when you arrive.
Paying for parking with your phone
You can pay for blue-line parking straight from your phone, with no coins and no paper ticket. The partner apps listed by ATAC let you register your number plate, choose the zone, start the parking session and, where the chosen service offers it, extend or stop it remotely.
The apps currently listed by ATAC are:
- EasyPark opens in a new tab
- Tabnet opens in a new tab
- ParkingMyCar opens in a new tab
- Telepass opens in a new tab
- ParkAppy opens in a new tab
- MooneyGo opens in a new tab
- DropTicket opens in a new tab
- Smarticket.it opens in a new tab
Three steps
- Download or open one of the apps listed by ATAC.
- Enter the correct vehicle registration number and confirm the parking zone shown on the sign or the parking meter.
- Choose the duration, check the amount and start the parking session.
Before you confirm payment, check the number plate, the zone code, the rate and the duration in the app. Any fees or conditions depend on the service and the profile you use.
The payment is linked digitally to your number plate; according to ATAC there is no need to display a receipt on the dashboard.
